	This is for the sweat that sticks to skin. This is for our children. Let the earth hold her remains. May the worms commune in her eyes. Let the dirt cover it all. I lowered her down with ribbons and laid her amongst the cool earth. Her flesh smelled of cinder. Her ashes rose from the grave and danced in the sky. Did she do enough to deserve her untimely end? Did we do enough? Did we do enough to prevent the sin under our skin? We washed the dirt from our hands. But it stuck under our nails. I doubt we will ever be rid of it. Rid of it.
